Challenging barriers to surgical access in lower and middle-income countries
AbstractThe Lancet Commission on Global Surgery suggests that five billion people do not have access to safe, affordable surgical and anaesthesia care when needed.1 This is most evident in lower- and middle-income countries where 9 out of 10 people do not have access to basic surgical care.1
